Bernard Hynes

I started dancing at the age of 8 in Dublin with the Peter Bolton school of dancing. I was lucky enough to win 5 Leinster Championships and 4 All Ireland Championships. I taught dancing for 25 years along with my real job as Finance Officer with Aer Lingus for 38 years.

I was privileged to teach many a World Champion, not to mention all those second places. (so near and yet so far). My proudest moments as a teacher was when two of my dancers won 1st and 2nd place in the same competition at the World Championships and when my senior dancer won the Ladies World Championship on two successive occasions.

I have been an Adjudicator for the past 28 years and an Examiner for the past 10 years. I have had the privilege of travelling around the world either adjudicating or organising and officiating at examinations for potential TMRF’s / TCRG’s and ADCRG’s on behalf of the Examination Authority ( An Údarás Scrúdaithe).

I am honoured to be judging at this year’s Oireachtas Rince na Cruinne and wish all the dancers and teachers every success.
