Catherine Cronin Ryan

I started my dancing career at the age of 6 at the world renowned Nolan school of dancing in Limerick city. During my years there I enjoyed many successes including, 5 All Ireland, 4 World Championship titles and several Munster Championship titles. While I am very proud of my solo success, I am equally as proud of being a team member of many World Championship figure dance titles also. The camaraderie and joy I felt during these years are ones that will stay with me forever.

On retiring from competition, I earned my T.C.R.G and later, my A.D.C.R.G. I celebrated several Munster Championship titles along with All Ireland and World Championship medals with my pupils.

In 1998, I emigrated to Auckland, New Zealand where I continued teaching for many years. Here I achieved similar success gaining several National titles and World Championship medals also.

In 2005 I returned to my native Limerick on the birth of my beautiful granddaughter Daoirfe. Today, I still enjoy teaching dancing and spending time with my daughter Lisa and Daoirfe.

I am very honoured to be judging the World Championships 2010 on it's 40th Anniversary and I would like to take this opportunity to wish all the teachers and competitors every success.
