Judy began Irish Dance at eight years of age in Cleveland, Ohio under the direction of Theresa (Tessie) Burke. Tessie was and continues to play a significant part of my Irish Dancing life. It was in her school that I met and eventually married PJ McCafferty ADCRG. We are the proud parents of Patrick, Maureen and Megan. The McCafferty school of Irish Dance was first opened in Ohio with a branch in Houston, Texas. The school is now based in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Judy has served as the IDTANA Secretary and also as Treasurer. She is currently the Regional Director for the IDTANA- Southern Region.
I am honoured to have been selected as an adjudicator for the 40th World Irish Dancing Championships. I am especially excited this particular year, because I have such fond memories of competing at the very first such event 40 years ago! What an amazing circle of events I have been blessed to be a part of....and so it continues. Congratulations to all who are able to compete this week. One day some of you will also sit at these tables. |
