Ann started dancing at the age of 5 with the Phoebe Cullen S.D. in Maynooth/Dublin. After moving to Galway at the age of 9, continued her dancing career with the Hession S.D., where she competed at Oireachtas Rince Chonnacht, Oireachtas Rince nahÉireann and Oireachtas Rince na Cruinne in both solo & team competitions.

After receiving her TCRG in 1997 Ann began teaching with Angela McDonagh who is also adjudicating at this prestigious event. They both teach under the McDonagh-Byrne S.D. along with Lorraine Farrell (Ann's sister), Derek Fahy and Veronica Guinan (Angela's sister).

On receiving her ADCRG in 2003 Ann has adjudicated at all major feiseanna including Regional Qualifiers, All Scotland, Great Britain and Oireachtas Rince na hÉireann.

Ann is privileged to be adjudicating at Oireachtas Rince na Cruinne 2009. She wishes all of the organisers, teachers, dancers and parents the very best of luck throughout the eight days.
