I now live in Gweedore in Donegal but I lived and danced in Glasgow originally. I am married to Danny
and have two teenage sons, Joe and Anthony.
I danced for Frances Teece in Glasgow and danced figures and ceili for Owen McAuley, when he joined
Frances. After taking my TCRG, I taught with my sister Eileen until I moved to Ireland where I opened another class, Rinceoiri an Earigail. I passed my ADCRG and have been enjoying adjudicating all over the world.
I gave up my school when I went back to full time employment a few years ago. I do miss getting to know
the current generation of children locally but as my own sons weren’t interested in the dancing, I confine myself to adjudicating these days. (I spend a lot of time at the sidelines of GAA pitches!) I also enjoy ceili and set dancing.
I would encourage all teachers to go on to adjudicate as I have thoroughly enjoyed this part of my dancing career and love the opportunity to meet up with dancing friends from all over the world.
Good luck to all the participants in the 2009 World Championships in Philadelphia and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy! |
