Shuttle Buses
This free service will operate on a daily basis between the Hilton Hotel, Marriott/Loews/Courtyard Hotels and the Kimmel Center. Shuttle buses will operate a loop service between 6:45am and 10:45am every 20 minutes.
Opening Ceremony
This will take place at approximately 5pm in the Verizon Hall on Sunday 5th April. Come along and see a very special welcome to Philadelphia.
Practise Areas
These are available free of charge all week in the Kimmel Center and in the Marriott Hotel from Monday afternoon until Friday evening.
Social Events
There are a large number of social events taking place in the Marriott Hotel – The Social Headquarters of the World Championships – Sponsored by CenterPoint during the week to which all attendees of the Championships are invited. We have two large events – the Final Night of Judgement on Monday 6th, and the Graduation/Gradam Dinner on the final Saturday. Please contact Lisa or Karen Petri for your tickets for these events. In addition there will be a number of themed Lobby Parties taking place. Food will be available in the lobby during the course of these parties starting at 5pm and finishing at 1am. Grand Raffle
A huge Oireachtas raffle is being held over the course of the Championships. Prizes include a week’s complementary stay in luxury apartments at next year’s World Championships in Glasgow including a free private flight in a Sea Plane, a suite and a meal in the luxurious Brehon Hotel during the 2010 All Ireland Championships, and designer dresses from both Eire Designs and Siopa Rince. For a few dollars you really could be a huge winner. Tickets are available in both the Kimmel Center and Marriott Hotel. The draw will take place on Sunday, 12th April.
Senior Dance Drama
This very popular event is taking place in the Kimmel Center on Sunday 12th April and will be the last event of this year’s Championships. Limited tickets costing $25 are available only from the Kimmel Centre. Don’t be disappointed by missing out, please buy your tickets as soon as possible.
Adjudicator Sean Flynn
Unfortunately due to work commitments, Sean Flynn is unable to officiate as a full time judge this year. He will only be judging on the first and last Sundays.
Teachers
The Teacher’s reception will take place on Sunday evening, 5th April in the Marriott. Please come along and enjoy the hospitality of the Mid-Atlantic Region. A special VIP area has also been set aside in “Heaven” an area overlooking the main lobby in the Marriott. Food and a full bar service is available here each evening till late. A very limited number of complementary tickets have been put aside for teachers for the Senior Dance Drama. These will be made available from the CLRG Information desk in the Kimmel Center from Sunday, 5th April and issued on a first come, first served basis. |
