Miriam McCarthy

I started dancing at the age of 5 and have enjoyed dancing ever since. A pupil of Mollie Farrelly she gave me a love of dance which I hope I have passed on to my pupils. As part of Scoil Rince Ni Fhaircheallaigh I competed at Ulster, All Ireland, and World Championshisp and traveled to International Folk Festivals all over Europe.

I have been teaching for 27 years and have a successful school in my home town of Drogheda, Co Louth. I was made an honorary citizen of the town when my school won their first gold medals at ‘Oireachtas Rince na Cruinne’.

I have been adjudicating since 1992 and have adjudicated in Ireland, Britain, Canada, Europe, Australia and USA. I’m also a grade examiner. My school has also traveled internationally and has performed at cultural festivals throughout Europe and last year in China.
